On August 5, Mike Cunneen, Senior Vice-President, Insurance and Independent Distribution, was joined by the Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade. Minister Ng provided an overview of what government support is available to small business owners, like the wage subsidy, and how much of an impact it has had to help keep business doors opens. Shifting gears, the Minister stressed the importance of keeping global supply chains open so essential goods and services can continue to flow during this critical time. If you submitted a question, rest assured we’re working with the Minister’s office to get it answered and added to our FAQ. 

Following Minister Ng, Mike welcomed Tim Prescott, President and CEO Quadrus Investment Services Limited and Vice-President, Advisor Compliance and Wealth Distribution and Craig Christie, Vice-President, Institutional Investment Solutions who provided further details about the recent announcement of GLC Asset Management Group Ltd. becoming part of Mackenzie Financial Corporation. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020 and is subject to regulatory approval. When it closes, GLC Asset Management Group Ltd. will operate as part of Mackenzie.
