We are pleased to announce that Empire Life has launched an optional disability insurance rider for new EstateMax®, Optimax Wealth® and Solution Series® policies. The NEW Empire Life Disability Credit Protect™ is designed to help clients continue to pay their monthly loan obligations if they become disabled and cannot work. Empire Life Disability Credit Protect can help provide an additional layer of security for a client’s financial plan. Upon claim approval, it pays a monthly benefit to help clients cover eligible monthly debt payments such as mortgage, rent or a car payment. | No-fluid life insurance underwriting requirements for coverage up to $1,000,000 Effective November 19, 2020, Empire Life is pleased to announce that underwriting requirements for life insurance coverage amounts up to $1,000,000 for insureds aged 18-50 will no longer require fluids or medical tests. Preferred underwriting for these cases will begin at $1,000,001. For full details, including transition rules, please see the Information Circular below. | New Program: Policy Lapse Notifications for Advisors To help ensure that your clients’ life and health insurance policies remain in-force, advisors will now be sent a notice, by email, of impending policy lapse(s) to let you know of any client policies that are in danger of lapsing. The program was piloted earlier this year with a group of advisors and received only positive feedback. * This program can be withdrawn by Empire Life at any time. View Sample Notification |

Learn about what happens with various scenarios involving the transfer of an interest in a life insurance policy. | Changes to "Not in good order" notifications To hold fewer policies and decrease turnaround times, we will now copy in advisors via email on all not in good order communications sent to your MGA from our New Business team during the application process. This is the latest in a number of process changes and other initiatives to improve service levels for life and health insurance applications. |

| Information Circular Revision: "Fronting" Fronting occurs when an advisor who was not involved in the completion of the sales transaction with the client, signs the application as the soliciting advisor.
