| To help you provide the best possible service to your clients and reduce application process times, Empire Life is making changes to the process for ordering medical requirements – for both the Fast & Full® Life App and our paper application. Process changes for paper submissions: beginning March 5, 2020, Empire Life will be responsible for ordering all age and amount requirements. Information Circular (Paper) Process changes for Fast & Full Life App submissions: also beginning March 5, 2020, Empire Life will enable ordering of paramedical exams for applications submitted with the Fast & Full Life App. Information Circular (Fast & Full) These changes will enable a more consistent and efficient application process no matter how you submit applications to Empire Life. Policyholder tax reporting for 2019 and RRSP season 2020 With RRSP season right around the corner, March 2nd is the deadline to receive your 2019 tax receipt for contributions. Here are some tips to ensure a smooth RRSP season: · Please make sure to have the application or account number on the cheque · Please make sure the cheque is current dated with the correct year (2020) · Please do not send in duplicates (only send paperwork one way: email, fax or mail). If sending multiple copies, ensure to indicate that on the paperwork. See our recent Information Circular for important tax reporting and RRSP cut off dates. |

Updated! Guidelines for Immigrants The Underwriting Department is pleased to announce that updates have been made to the Guidelines for Immigrants. These updates include: new easy to read chart format; residency periods have been reduced for some categories; Post Graduate Work Program Students have been added; we have formally added categories for individuals enrolled in Provincial Nominee Program and for Spouses and Dependent Children; face amounts have been increased for Foreign Trained Medical Doctors and Skilled/Professional Workers (e.g. nurses, lawyers, engineers, pharmacists) to 2,000,000 Life and 500,000 CI. These guidelines can be found on the Empire Life Website for Advisers on the Underwriting site. |
